Premium OEM solutions engineered for harsh demolition, recycling, and mining operations worldwide
In modern construction, scrap metal processing, and high-intensity excavation projects, time is not just currency—it is the baseline of operational feasibility. The historical paradigm of manually changing heavy excavator attachments by knocking out pins with hammer and punch was not only labor-intensive and time-consuming, but also introduced severe occupational hazards. The advent of standard hydraulic couplers partially solved this efficiency bottleneck. However, conventional single-locking couplers suffered from a critical failure mode: accidental drop accidents resulting from structural pressure drops, unexpected electrical disconnections, or simple human error in locking system operations.
As safety mandates like ISO 13031 became globally recognized standards, the industry witnessed a massive structural shift towards Double-Locking Hydraulic Couplers. Engineered as a highly intelligent safeguard, a double-locking mechanism ensures the attachment is mechanically and hydraulically secured at two distinct points. Even if primary hydraulic system pressure is entirely lost, the independent secondary safety lock dynamically holds the attachment pin in place, preventing catastrophic drop accidents on construction sites.
Today, China stands as the powerhouse of manufacturing for these high-precision components. Under the strict requirements of original equipment manufacturers globally, Chinese OEM companies have transitioned from mass replicators into pioneer technical centers, developing custom-designed intelligent quick hitches that seamlessly integrate structural mechanical robustness with advanced sensory controls.
A comprehensive examination of physical stress distribution, hydraulic pressures, and redundant safety protocols.
The standard operation of a double-locking hydraulic quick coupler relies on a multi-stage structural safety architecture. When the excavator operator initiates the detachment protocol from the cabin, hydraulic fluid flows to release the primary dynamic locking claw, freeing the rear attachment pin. However, in a certified double-locking system, the front pin is protected by an independent, spring-applied, or auxiliary hydraulic security hook. This ensures that the primary actuator cannot release unless the secondary lock is intentionally disengaged by the controller under strict sensor-monitored conditions.
This dual-phase containment process is characterized by three core mechanical attributes:
An independent mechanical jaw directly grips the front pin immediately upon attachment. The claw is kept engaged by robust compression springs, which means it remains firmly locked even if all hydraulic lines are cut or experience massive pressure drops.
Integrated directly into the coupler's hydraulic cylinder, these check valves prevent hydraulic fluid from backing out in the event of hose rupture, locking the internal piston securely in the extended/locked configuration.
Equipped with pressure transmitters and magnetic proximity sensors, the system alerts the operator via audible and visual cabin alarms if the rear or front pins are not fully engaged with the dynamic safety claws.

A standard hydraulic coupler uses a single cylinder to push a sliding slide-wedge or primary hook against the rear pin of the attachment. A certified Double-Locking Coupler adds an entirely independent, spring-loaded safety jaw that instantly locks onto the front pin. In the event of a sudden loss of hydraulic pressure, the front hook remains mechanically compressed and clamped around the pin. This prevents the attachment from falling off the coupler, even if the primary rear lock is entirely released.
Yantai Huida works directly with major raw material suppliers. All products are manufactured using certified, structural-grade Q355B and Hardox high-strength, wear-resistant steel plates. Heavy-duty stress-bearing segments undergo physical FEA structural analysis before welding. Our entire manufacturing cycle strictly adheres to ISO9001 quality management procedures to ensure flawless performance under severe impact loads.
Yes. Our couplers are designed to comply with standard pin-grabbing specifications. This allows them to easily mount and locking-secure attachments from other excavator brands—such as buckets, rock breakers, eagle shears, wood grapples, and lifting electromagnets—without requiring manual modifications to the parent attachment.
The primary maintenance requirements include regular lubrication (greasing) of the sliding components and mechanical safety jaws every 10 hours of operations. Operators must also perform daily visual checks of the hydraulic hoses for wear or oil weeping. Additionally, it is essential to periodically inspect the spring tension on the front safety claw to ensure it remains clean and free of debris blockages.
Absolutely. Backed by our dedicated 6-member engineering R&D team and in-house Circuit Technology Center, we can customize quick hitches to operate under extreme environmental conditions, such as underwater dredging, high-temperature slag handling, or cold high-altitude projects. We can also integrate custom proximity sensors and electronic cabin displays tailored to your fleet's requirements.
